General

The University of Waterloo Ballroom Dance Club is a sport club under the Department of Athetics and Recreational Services at UW. We are a not-for-profit organization that is run entirely by student volunteers. Our aim is to provide high-quality instruction in international style ballroom dancing to the UW community at a student-friendly cost, and to promote ballroom dancing to the undergraduate environment.

The club has grown rapidly since its first year in 2005. What started as just a few friends that wanted to try some dancing has become a full-fledged club offering a variety of instruction, dance opportunities and social events. To really find out what we're about, come out and talk to us, but to give you some idea what we offer, here are some of the services and events that our members enjoy:

beginner classes for those with absolutely no dance experience (people with two left feet are welcome)
intermediate classes
social dances
workshops
weekly open dance sessions
trips to competitions
movie/TV nights

The Executive

Robbie

President

Robbie is responsible for managing the executive team, club administration, policies, external correspondence, contracts for instruction, and compliance with UW regulations.

Vice President

Carolyn assists the president in the general administrative duties of the club and correspondence with the membership.

Treasurer

Vlad manages the club's finances and budgets.

Secretary

Nino assists with club records, membership lists and meeting minutes.

Mike and Sharon

Community Advisors

Mike and Sharon are members of the community who help the club in many ways. They not only keep us well-informed of community events, but regularly give their time to help members during lessons and practices. Together they have many years of dance experience.
